  3. The expansion tank

  5. overflow from the
  6. radiator.  As the
  7. liquid coolant is
  8. heated, it expands
  9. and occupies a
  10. greater volume than
  11. it did when it was
  12. cool.  This
  13. overflow moves from
  14. the top of the
  15. radiator to the
  16. expansion tank
  17. through the
  18. expansion tube.
